My thoughts on Movie Advertising...

Post by pratikbagaria »

I was a fine Wednesday morning... I was reading HT as usual... and there where ads about new movie... Raajneeti, Kites and lots more...

The full page ad of Raajneeti in HT Cafe caught my attention. There was nothing wrong with the ad. But then don't know I was searching for something more. Something that would appeal to me, force me to go and watch the movie.
Then I thought all movie ads just have a nice visual with the actors... But nothing is ever said about the movie at all... :?:

Wouldn't it be nice to just have a small body copy or some text telling what's special or something???

Ya, when you buy a DVD you can read the story on the outside which allows you to decide if you should buy it or not. Completely agree with pratikbagaria.

Hi Pratik, Welcome!
Yup. Firstly thanks for the welcome.
Ya DVD pack has story...
Its not necessary that the print ad should carry the story... but some body copy or some background would be nice...

but thats very unfair, madonna. movies depend on personal tastes and moods. your friends may have a different taste from you. shouldnt you make your own movie watching decisions.

i completely agree with you ek kanya
but frankly even the movie promos were not appealing and too hyped out
it was just blown out of proportion so that also made me not wanna go to watch the movie
