Okay, please keep in mind that I'm still a wet-eared newbie in this field and have been feeling my way forward almost blindfolded. One question I have never quite managed to get answered is - What's the difference between an advertising agency (offering full service) and a media agency? What does it mean when a media agency wins the creative mandate of a brand?
I apologize if the question seems too rudimentary and basic, but I would be grateful if someone could point it out.
What's the difference?

Re: What's the difference?
Advertising agency works on the creative campaigns and strategy.
Media Agency manages and plans the media buying (TV, print, radio, cinema, digital etc).
Ogilvy, JWT, Lowe, Mudra etc are advertising agencies.
Starcom, Zenith etc are media agencies.
Do you want me to elaborate more?
