i like the first one.
the second one, is well bad. there is an idea inthe though though.
i have noticed you tend to make your work a lot verbose. try to put an idea across without words.

are you into readng advertising creative books?

agreed. one one is interesting, nice thought as well, art could look good as well, the second needs a lot more work.

Anurag,

I like the first one....but if i understand it right you are showing the ash tray with very short warranty as the smokers don't live long enough????

Make it simplar though.

Anti-smoking ads

Post by kumarg »

Anurag,

The ash-tray is a striking shot however the bottom half dampens the idea.
Imagine if you could have put the ash-tray to better use like making it
a lamp...and use the line much to the effect of "non-smokers live longer"
and you have a powerful ad. Think about it...

The second ad is a precious waste of space.

I really wish good for you and hence would like to keep my comments as honest as possible. Cheers

I'm no ad guru, because you can't stop learning in advertising or life. Quite honestly, I like the first (though it could be simpler), the second one is flat-out bad, and the third one doesn't need any copy besides the one in the visual. Overall, you've seen so many ads over the years on non-smoking and it's a category where the bar has been raised several times. The 'Cancer Cures Smoking' ad and the one where a cigarette was shown with the headline 'Oral Contraceptive' are just 2 such top-of-mind winners. Try harder, keep learning, you'll get closer.

Aha,
So after posting quite a few ads, I did get some replies.
And to put it straight, I loved each one of them. This shows how you people are genuine in your comments and in fact pass pointers which I'm sure would push us further in our endeavours.
Thanks again.
