Lee Supermodel Calender, better then Kingfisher

Post by Dalbir »

For all those who hated Atul Kasbekar's work for Kingfisher there is hope in Indian fashion photography although still missing the 'wow' factor.

Here is some of the work from Lee Supermodel Desi Calender 2005 shot by india's 6 best photographers according to Lee.

Tarun, Prabuddha, Nisha, Subi, Tejal and Suresh. They all shot Yana Gupta.

I think Tarun has done a decent job.

Nisha Kutti and Subi Samuel tried David laChappelle style but to me it looks shabby and kitch. Subi's batgirl shot reminds me of cheap central asian beer posters. However Nisha's second shot is not bad.

Prabuddha's work looks nice.

What you guys say?

what was the breif? just shoot Yana? i do not see how these images convey Lee's brand positioning. To a commoner Lee is only denim and i miss that in each of the photographer's work.

I like Kingfisher better. It is a step forward, i mean indian models in bikinis...good job atul.

Lee I think is tredding a very conservative path...and yana is so passe.

king fisher work is a bit old style...i used to see vogue in the early 90s and this is what they did.

lee, i am not impressed, it doesn't say anything about the brand...
