Marketing turns 100-help us celebrate
Next year, Marketing joins the century club. Considering the average magazine's lifespan tends to be shorter than a politician's memory of campaign promises, not just surviving, but thriving, for 100 years is an accomplishment we're justly proud of.
To mark Marketing's centenary, we've got all sorts of exciting plans in the works, including in-depth, multi-part editorial coverage of the Canadian companies, agencies, marketers and media outlets (and the pioneers behind them) that have, since 1908, helped make this industry, and our country, great.
We've also got a rather special celebration planned for next autumnÐan initiative that will serve as the dynamic launching pad for our second century. Details will follow shortly.
First, though, we want your assistance. We need an anniversary logo; a "100th anniversary" insignia that will appear on the cover of every 2008 issue of Marketing, be incorporated into our custom publications, our promotional materials, our website, Marketing Daily, and integrated with our 2008 awards programs, special events and industry seminars.
Full credit will be given to the winning designer(s), together with his or her professional affiliation, on the contents page of each 2008 issue and on our website. In addition, the winning entry (along with the top finalists) will be showcased in Marketing's pages and site later this year.
Be bold, be imaginative, be resourceful, and remember that you're helping us make history. Send your submissions to Paul.Ferriss@marketingmag.rogers.com or Peter.Zaver@marketingmag.rogers.com. The deadline is Nov. 2.
