Before you make up your mind on the above campaign check this out
http://adsoftheworld.com/media/print/de ... _mountains

Done in 2005 by McCann Puerto Rico. Check out the whole campaign while you are there. Better art direction and I think those are the originals.

yes, it is funny, but i have seen all these kind of visuals everywhere, i mean even the first one may not be the real one.

in the same Archive i saw 2 ads for different ditergents where they showed no shirt but only white background and a pen in the white pocket and in the other ad they only showed white background with buttons.

(SH)IT HAPPENS!!

infact the day after adsoftheworld came up with these 3 (a 3rd where the visual is that of an ice tray. each cube is morphed into the product - or is it s'posed 2b the other way round? go, figure!) product on the front page, the original "chewing gum' ads were posted on the front page. that too right ahead of the "indian" version.
but hey man, it happens. we all know (especially the people who believe in ideating, rather than "writing copy") how it keeps happening with us. from my latest venturing ground JWT, Calcutta, can swear how many ads with the same idea came from all over India as a reply to the yearly "INS-Think Print Contest" (winners are announced as a part of the ABBY ceremony) for this year - the brief was to turn the Mentos'"Dimag Ki Batti Jalao - Classroom" TVC to print. i thought i've sent a sureshot winner. a Med-Close Up shot of a guy in a college class-room (with more students morphed at the back and blurring it till eyes strained) is actually sleeping wit a pair of eyes painted on his specs.
but whoever has a copy of the "INS... Contest" booklet can find out how many avataars of the same idea were shortlisted (one was by yours truly).
HELL!
'neway, let's chill.

i agree with life joker.

do u really think that creatives in india r so bad that they have to copy an ad that is freely available for viewing?

even at cannes the same ads done by different agencies keep on winnin
