Agreed FC. I will not say Art Direction is nice, but obviosuly they have very good illustrators and they spend tonnes of time developing average predictable ideas. I look at it and i say...hmmmm, ok, big deal. This is so PS2.
This is the same like all those Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Puma ads where one guy kicks the football and the whole village starts playing the game. One guy had rightly said, even Adidas is making Nike ads.
bad art direction? I want to see you improve on this one...
whats the idea? i guess its whats on a guy's mind...I cant seem to find the playstaion clues though :
there seems to be a small brain, an automated butt slapping thingy, some heads of taxidermed (sic) girls like trophies on a wall, some alcohol bottles, lots of roving eys, some religion (apparently), and lots and lots of play.
its more of an advanced modern piece of art, rather than advertising though. its contextual art...
the playstation cues r there if u look closely. but that's where the similarity with all the great work done on playstation ends. but then opinions differ.
and really, haven't u seen better art direction than that?
This could be an ad for x-box, ninetendo anything, or would it?
I still do not know what is the meaning of this ad. As someone said, what's on a man's mind...well, but if as a layman i think of PS2 i would think of 64 bit graphics. Man killing man, X-Men type of characters, castles, racing cars etc.
This also brings me to grand prix winner HUMAN MOUNTAIN. I think it was wonderfully done, but was it really about the brand?
