So far the Art Director has fared badly. But they get the most money. I wish I were an Art Director.

I think the art director's should get paid double. Imagine coming up a line like 'I'm loving it' and then u go home and sleep and the poor art director has to slog her ass off.

art directors anyday. in any case the ads these days are so heavily visually driven.

i dont consider 'thinking' hard work, since its fun vis-a-vis photoshopping anf air brushing.

also thethinking process is divided between jamming partners.
no wonder that art directors do more freelance. its a mental thing. they are more prone to hard work and initiative.

actually the copywriters are luckier that way since in a visually driven ad they jam with the art guy and then they go home and sleep while the art guy has to stay up all night.

however if it is a brochure then the poor copywriter has to do all the writing...

so it depends...i still think art works harder and which is why they get paid more too.

I am very on to work very close together with may AD(s), from the concepting to the execution, as I think it's is the easiest way, to come up with something really cool stuff...

So I, as a copywriter stay in with the AD, until it is ready, and that means that I don't leave normally before 23.00.

This is good because:

a. it develops the atmosphere 8)
b. the client is happier, as he gets always a better stuff, than normally expected :) (yeah, i AM stroking my self-confidence)
c. in this situation no one ask that "Who according to you, works the hardest in an agency?"

peace

Why ask silly question,
AD works harder, that is the notion.

Reality is something else,
But who will tell?

It is the Designers,
We work like engineers,
When the AD fails,
and deadlines trail,
Who else saves the ass,
But Designboyz like no one else.
DesignBoyz come,
Others go !

Art Directors for sure....
copywriters only download music and chat up the freckle Junior Account Executives, carrying stale chocolates in their jholas, so no one notices whatall music they have downloaded...
