i often hear the term of "activation" when people talk about promo and event, but i don't have the exact definition. someone could help please?

activation is basically defined as promoting the main communication
idea or the message through a more active process by one on one
interaction with the consumers. it can be done through participating
in event or any other field activity. it is the amplification of the
brand idea or concept on ground.

here's my view
activation- as the name suggests is the expression of the brands concept in action. a sort of coming alive of the brand in real time. it helps the target consumer to actually see, touch, feel -any or all of these and experience the brand. and in doing that it takes the target consumer closer to conversion.
product demonstrations, sampling, DIY activity are some ways you can experience the brand in action.
