BarCamp Bangalore 9 (BCB9) is happening on 18-Sep-2010 and they are conducting a logo competition. I designed a logo and what you see here are my attempts on branding.

Base of the design is a ‘9’ that looks like a single quotation mark representing communication. A speech bubble is incorporated into the design that contains the BarCamp logo. The placement of the elements is manipulated in such a way that ‘Bangalore’ on the logo is speaking about BarCamp. So, 'Talk of the Town.'

Err... I think I didn't make myself clear in the post.
Well, all the three images are stock-photos onto which I 'Photoshopped' my logo competition entry. That means, I have no idea what the paper of the 'I am attending' badge.

I finished my studies and just joined a design studio.

honestly I had liked your design better, but i guess its a democratic world. What do you think of the new design?

Soujanya had a clever idea in the logo -- transforming the 'E' of 'Bangalore' to a '9' in Kannada Script. I think that is the USP of the design. Of-course, Kannada illiterates like me didn't get it in the first place; but I think it gels with the idea.

i am a kannadiga illiterate and I didnt hgetthe idea. perhaps its not so nice an idea that people especially in a cosmopolitan city like Bengaluru cant get. But then there are the fascist forces...
