Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Dear All,

In the Present, we are surrounded excessively by stress and worry.

Each of us seem to be going through our activities guided by situations, we need to avoid, ignore, conquer or forget!

The discussions with others only precipitates this grime...there is now a feeling of urgency combined with a level of discouragement..will it wont it? Look at the world...etc etc..

Please, dont become part of this:

When you read the News,( exaggerated many times!) know its meant for your Awareness, read a few lines, get the gist..dump the rest. The rest would be to enhance fear..it has to sell.

When you hear something negative ..dont spread the fear..EDIT it with your positivity and Deeper Understanding.

Ask yourself are you spreading Awareness or Fear? Then speak!

Protect yourself from others in the same way, gently stop someone who is over reacting, ask them to take the necessary precautions, thats it...pass on a crystal to them for Positive Awareness if necessary.

Never ( and i never say Never, this time i am going to ) EVER, read/ hear/ see or discuss something negative or fearful before going to bed. Something that you club in REALITY, for this goes into increasing your own fears and Negativity.

When a Negative thought comes by, take 3 Deep Breaths and Breathe out the Fears. Let it pass. Dont hold it inside. It will cause more damage.

Let the Winds carry them away, the change has to happen, earlier there was too much hidden, now all will be open. The transparency should not make us into fearinfested people..

Instead of talking about Global warming, talk about how you have have added actions in your living that make you feel part of the solution; I always take the steps less than elevators, to save electricity.
Switching off lights..
Reading about happier things, learning about a new subject that can change my own life as well as help the environment/people in your environment in any way....etc

Pls send your thoughts on this on how else you think you can spread positivity!

In The Pursuit of Happiness

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour a day to drain the fluids from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed next to the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed would live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake, the man had said. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Lovers walked arm in arm amid flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man could not hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head: Why should hehave all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything? It didn't seem fair. As the thought fermented, the man felt ashamed at first. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - and that thought now controlled his life.

Late one night, as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room, he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running. In less than five minutes, the coughing and choking stopped, along with the sound of breathing. Now, there was only silence--deathly silence.

The following morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendant to take it away--no words, no fuss. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

Moral of the story:
The pursuit of happiness is a matter of choice...it is a positive attitude we consciously choose to express. It is not a gift that gets delivered to our doorstep each morning, nor does it come through the window. And I am certain that our circumstances are just a small part of what makes us joyful. If we wait for them to get just right, we will never find lasting joy.

The pursuit of happiness is an inward journey. Our minds are like programs, awaiting the code that will determine behaviors; like bank vaults awaiting our deposits. If we regularly deposit positive, encouraging, and uplifting thoughts, if we continue to bite our lips just before we begin to grumble and complain, if we shoot down that seemingly harmless negative thought as it germinates, we will find that there is much to rejoice about.

The Charlie Schulz Philosophy

(This is marvelous! Scroll thru slowly and read carefully to receive and enjoy full effect)

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip.

You don't have to actually answer the questions.

Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize..

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is , none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.

These are no second-rate achievers.

They are the best in their fields.

But the applause dies..

Awards tarnish.

Achievements are forgotten..

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special!!

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials..

the most money...or the most awards.

They simply are the ones who care the most.

Pass this on to those people who have made a difference in your life, like I did.

'Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia !'

As my friend was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. My friend saw a trainer nearby and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

"Well," he said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free." My friend was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn't, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? So make an attempt to grow further.... Why shouldn't we try it again?

"YOUR ATTEMPT MAY FAIL, BUT NEVER FAIL TO MAKE AN ATTEMPT."

ONE PARAGRAPH THAT EXPLAINS LIFE!

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983. From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: 'Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease'?
To this Arthur Ashe replied:
'The world over -- 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD 'Why me?'.
And today in pain I should not be asking GOD 'Why me?'

An excellent message to read and enjoy . . . maybe you have read it already but still . . . but to put it in practice? Doing things first time right!

It's been 18 years since I joined Volvo, a Swedish company. Working for them has proven to be an interesting experience. Any project here takes two years to be finalized, even if the idea is simple and brilliant. It's a rule.

Globalized processes have caused in us (all over the world) a general sense of searching for immediate results. Therefore, we have come to posses a need to see immediate results. This contrasts greatly with the slow movements of the Swedish. They, on the other hand, debate, debate, debate, hold x quantity of meetings and work with a slowdown scheme. At the end, however, this always yields better results.

1. Sweden has two million inhabitants.
2. Stockholm has 500,000 people.
3. Volvo, Ericsson, Atlas Copco, Sandvik, SKF, Skanska, Electrolux, SAS, Securitas, Svenska,
are some of Sweden's renowned companies. Volvo even supplies NASA.

The first time I was in Sweden, one of my colleagues picked me up at the hotel every morning. It was September, bit cold and snowy. We would arrive early at the company and he would park far away from the entrance (2000 employees drive their car to work).

The first day, I didn't say anything, neither the second or third days. One morning I asked him, "Do you have a fixed parking space?

I've noticed we park far from the entrance even when there are no other cars in the lot."

To which he replied, "Since we're here early we'll have time to walk, don't you think that whoever gets in late will need a place closer to the door?" Imagine my face.

Nowadays, there's a movement in Europe named Slow Food. This movement establishes that people should eat and drink slowly, with enough time to taste their food, spend time with the family, friends, without rushing. Slow Food is against its counterpart, Fast Food and what it stands for as a lifestyle. Slow Food is the basis for a bigger movement called Slow Europe, as mentioned by Business Week.

Basically, the movement questions the sense of "hurry" and "craziness" generated by globalization, fuelled by the desire of "having in quantity" (life status) versus "having with quality", "life quality" or the "quality of being".

French people, even though they work 35 hours per week, are more productive than Americans or British. Germans have established 28.8 hour workweeks and have seen their productivity driven up by 20%..

This slow attitude has come to the notice of USA, the pupils of the fast and "do it now" brigade.

This no-rush attitude doesn't represent doing less or having a lower productivity.
It means working and doing things with greater quality, productivity, perfection, with attention to detail and less stress.
It means re-establishing family values, friends, free and leisure time.. Taking the "now", present and concrete, versus the "global", undefined and anonymous.
It means taking humans' essential values, the simplicity of living.
It stands for a less coercive work environment, more happy, lighter and more productive work place where humans enjoy doing what they know best how to do.

It's time to stop and think on how companies need to develop serious quality with no-rush that will increase productivity and the quality of products and services, without losing the essence.

In the movie, 'Scent of a Woman', there's a scene where Al Pacino asks a girl to dance and she replies, "I can't, my boyfriend will be here any minute now". To which Al Pacino responds, "A life is lived in an instant" . Then they dance the tango!

Many of us live our lives running behind time, but we only reach it when we die of a heart attack or in a car accident rushing to be on time. Others are so anxious to live for the future that they forget to live the present, which is the only time that truly exists.

We all have equal time throughout the world. No one has more or less. The difference lies in how each one of us does with our time. We need to live each moment. As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".

Congratulations for reading this message till the end.
There are many who will have stopped in the middle so as not to waste time in this "Globalized" world.

HOW A SMALL CHILD CAN TEACH YOU PATIENCE

Life teaches you many a lesson. And sometimes, like Karna who was cursed to forget a lesson when he most needed it, life comes with a multitude of problems just when you don't need or expect them.

Would like to share my own story in brief.

Had spent 5 years in Dubai - some of the best of my life. Had a great job as an ECD. Wife was working too. Everything was going smooth.

Then, last September, recession bit Dubai. And things started going wrong. Had a 50% salary cut. And by November, was out of a job. Got the news that my wife was pregnant. So frittered and pottered around in Dubai, in the hope that I could cobble up a job.

Tried my hand in business. Did everything to keep my heart and mind going. With little luck.

This April, my wife came back to India for the child's delivery expected in July. God had other designs. She delivered a baby girl, who was almost 3 months premature.

I had to wrap up Dubai and come back. Hope was dim. The ICU doctors told us it would be long, hard and expensive challenge ahead. Indeed, it proved to be.

It has been 54 days today for my little one in the ICU. We've spent our entire savings on the hospital and there's still another 40 days minimum for her to get discharged.

Have been through a gamut of emotions in the last 2 months. No income. No interviews forthcoming. Having to soothe my wife and my own mind - see hope, pray and feel positive, no matter what.

I've cried. I've contemplated suicide (seriously, once.) I've felt miserable. I've seemed unloved.

And yet, when I think of my loved one - who has fought through 54 days of pain and uncertainty - who has willed her way through a falling heart rate, a diffused breathing pattern and vial upon vial of antibiotics - who has not understood what's happening to her - who has not yet had the energy to cry loudly - who has not yet realized who her mother or father are - not yet breathed her mother's warmth - I have learned.

There is an art to patience. It comes with prayer. It comes slow, but it arrives nevertheless.

There are still miles to go before my little one comes home and is fit and fine. There are still days, maybe months to go, before I get a job in advertising that would satisfy me - emotionally, mentally and financially.

But in the days that have past, and the ones that shall pass, I shall be patient, I shall pray.

God is always by our side. It's just that we choose sometimes not to feel him.

My little baby knows this. Hence, I perceive him always.

Whether you are in a relationship or looking for one - if you are expecting or waiting for someone to 'complete' you,
you may have to wait forever.

2 halves do not make a whole when it comes to relationships, because both partners enter the relationship looking for things they need from the other, to fill their own voids and incompleteness,
thus creating more lack, more disappointment, more unmet expectations.

And so the circle that forms with the 2 halves coming together - the relationship - does not grow, it just cannibalizes itself, growing weaker from within, collapsing due to the pressure. Best case scenario - the relationship stagnates and does not grow over time.

On the other hand, if you look within yourself to find completion,
when you love and accept yourself unconditionally, when you are at peace and secure within yourself, you have the capability of attracting a partner who is also whole and complete. And together you come together as two whole circles, creating a much bigger and stronger one.

Together you have the potential of creating a relationship that is fulfilling and allows both partners the space to evolve and grow to their highest potentials.

A PENCIL MAKER TOLD THE PENCIL 5 IMPORTANT LESSONS JUST BEFORE PUTTING IT IN THE BOX :

1) EVERYTHING YOU DO WILL ALWAYS LEAVE A MARK.
2) YOU CAN ALWAYS CORRECT THE MISTAKES YOU MAKE.
3) WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS WHAT IS INSIDE OF YOU.
4) IN LIFE, YOU WILL UNDERGO PAINFUL SHARPENINGS, WHICH WILL ONLY MAKE YOU BETTER.
5) TO BE THE BEST PENCIL, YOU MUST ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE HELD AND GUIDED BY THE HAND THAT HOLDS YOU.

We all need to be constantly sharpened. This parable may encourage you to know that you are a special person, with unique God-given talents and abilities. Only you can fulfill the purpose which you were born to accomplish. Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot be changed and, like the pencil, always remember that the most important part of who you are, is what's inside of you and then allow yourself to be guided by the hand of God.
