Re: Ponds by Ogilvy
i think they meant the ad to look like that pixelfiesta and saumya. it was meant to look corny and filmy. the way such a movie poster would look. no? but then again i think it's stupid to make it look that way just coz u r taking the hindi film route. i mean, would a pond's user like how this ad is looking? i don't think so. only the agency will love it coz the art does what the copy says. and the product? oh forgot about it! put it in! put it in! there....

But Anjana, a common man also has some taste. One can easily make out from the look of the poster what kind of film it is. So when I see this poster, it makes me feel that its a very old movie. Especially because these are the times when on an average there are 2-3 movie releases every friday. So if I saw this poster as a movie poster, it wouldnt interest me at all. Leave aside the product.
Eg. If I (as a common man) saw a Bhojpuri movie poster, that wouldnt interest me at all. Simply because its not my taste.
I would like to know who is this poster targeted at?
Pardon me for using Bhojpuri as an example but its just to convey the thought. Its not intended to to hurt the community.

exactly my point, pixelfiesta. it might look like the movie poster it intends to look like. but it would not interest the consumer. anyone on ogilvy on this one?
