[Digital Creative Opinion] Sunsilk Gang Of Girls

Post by Saumya »

I find there is some thought in the concept but the creatives suck. he site is too clutteretdd, lots of unnecessary flash and overall looks confusing. i think it needs a trained eye to re-align the visual elements and make the site more apealing.

and can we less of flash please? its an eye sore. he site DOESNT LOOK LIKE A SISTERHOOD OF GIRLS, as it should, considering the name, but more like a Billboard.

Overall, didnt like it. am becoming a member to post more.

hi saumya! you are ight., i myself have never liked sunsilk's Gang Of Girls site.

but these figures are interesting:

The GoG initiative had generated immense interest among the media, analysts, and the TG. In November 2006, it was reported that the site had generated 200 million hits and got on an average 12 million to 13 million page views per month.

By March 2007, the number of registered members had crossed the half million mark, with about 30,000 gangs. HLL said that the initiative had resulted in increase in sales and market share.

it does seem it has been somwwhat successful
Truth Hurts. But bad advertising hurts even more.

ok, I became a member. the site code is a bit unclean, the look is cluttered (its like watching a vhs movie on your cable with the millions of strips of ads running through). the site's also hosted on a slightly slow server.

clicking on some buttons like 'Forum', 'Gang Blogs' etc didnt do anything. Its a flash menu. how I hate flash.

after trying for some time clicking on these non functional buttons, I gave up. Will try again. gotta work on a layout now...

Extremely cluttered interface. They are using the site as a Billboard... A very wrong move on the web..

this is an interesting take on the Sunsilk Gangof Girls site. It seems it gets more than 12 million hits a month, which seems like PR hype.

DesignBoyz come,
Others go !
