Raymond thinks Indian men are not complete?
It seems Raymond is another of those brands who think being Indian is something to hide under the carpet. This campaign, which takes forward the thought 'The Complete Man', finds imperative to show a gora. Perhaps Raymond and its agency feels Indian men are not complete. Hello? Indian men?
Kikikikikiki bleach-treated my avatar! Isn't she sweet?

Would love to see the Client's brief on this. Or its the same ghisi piti kahani: Take one firang model, shoot him in ultra prime locations: job done? Indians love it. We love Gora skin.

I don't understand why do they have to use foreign models. India has its share of good looking men. I think they think that, using these models will show the brand as more upmarket, because Boss, Burberry and Klein use these models. I wan't to know if this was the decision of the client or the agency, to get foreign models.

Its generally the agency's recommendation.
All these art directors browse through prestigious name magazines, like Wallpaper, Dazed etc, and try to ape those ads. What they don't get is they have to discover our own aesthetic.

Truth Hurts. But bad advertising hurts even more.

If its the agency's recommendation, then that's sad. I thought it was client's choice. I guess the fault lies with us creatives for suggesting this.TruthHurts wrote:Its generally the agency's recommendation.

Its true. I know al the 'creatives' around me want to work with 'gora' photographers, models, film makers...
Heck, one agency in Delhi even hires 'goras' as 'creatives' to show off to clients. Big agency.

Terrible. As an Indian woman, I object. I think our men are the best.
