Yes. I've gotten better comments when I first comp'd up the ad. After I re-art directed it to a more simple ad, I started getting less positive responses.

Er... I know, I know... I'm late! But what is the white strip doing there at the bottom (in the older version)? It is all about reducing the number of elements. The strip is not adding anything to the ad. The forest picture could have been bleed.

yes. I agree. The white strip doesn't do much for the ad. I'm still working on figuring out where the logo and tagline can live. Any suggestions?
