@Saumya
How can you just take a look at an ad and tell whether its a scam or not? I can understand if you're opining about an agency or ad in the country because well you know better...but how does one judge? What defines a scam ad? Because this one is reaally good. Is it when an ad is really good but presumably most likely not what the client ordered for? Why do you think this one could be one?

To answer for saumya: I think what happens is when you see the client's name/brand in the ad, you kind of know. I cant say for this ad, but manu a times, you see the brand is fake and probably doesnt exist. Just google for the brand name.
and yes, often there is no client, or an ad the client did not ask for, and the creatives make something they felt like was a good idea.
this is then entered for awards.
if only creatives spent the same energy on real briefs, the ads we see around us would be more interesting.

That was a good answer vikas. Thanks. Do agencies get penalised for entering scams for awards?

Agency people are smart enough. They release the ad with the smallest possible size in a news paper which costs them very less, and hence it becomes a published work and earns the eligibility for an award.

agencies often publish the ad in local community newspapers. but these days even that is not required. and yes teh creatives get pay hikes if their work gets published.

Is it? I never knew that. Do they measure the competency levels based on the number adverts published?basant kumar wrote:agencies often publish the ad in local community newspapers. but these days even that is not required. and yes teh creatives get pay hikes if their work gets published.
