I have gone without jobs quite a few times in my decade long career in advertising. So what it feels like to be in such a situation, especially when you have a family to support. The emotions go from traumatic to highly tranquilizing, considering how stressful it is to keep up with impossible deadlines and how insecure the field is. When such uncalled for breaks have gone by, I have really missed them. I think when the curtains are finally pulled over my career, I will always have fond memories of them, as much as the best work I have done for my clients. Catching those elusive moments with my wife, playing with my growing up daughter, spending lazy afternoons on my bed with a novel or magazine… it feels as if I am reconnected to a life as I have always wanted them to be: lazy and full of leisure. It also prepares me for next round of battle, bigger challenges, more confusing briefs... till I quit again.

i know how you feel. I too left my job in the middle to travel and then came back and joined a small design shop in India. The pressures of the jobs are bad, but whats worse is the quality of people there right now. I hate the crowd. Really low intellect shallow people. I am happy in my new position, even though it pays a bit less, its more rewarding

but what about existence? we are all facing the problem of existence. we have to pay bills and buy stuff. but yes, i agree with you guys, the crowd and the work has started to suck big time. given a chance I will quit and so something else. but what? rajesh? you happy freelancing? how are you paying the bills?

sometimes from freelance, sometimes from my savings. hope to get something soon.

start your own thing. I know guys who have done that, and are happier and richer.

being jobless is still ok..unless u r nt aimless right?

being aimless for a while ain't bad too. it helps you reassess your priorities in life and come back with a better and practical aim.
