i actually miss this program

hey, I read somewhere that you are just a stuent. this program was waaaay back. I looooved it! It was just truly amazing and its this program that brought Shekhar Suman and so many others to the front. CAn you post more of the episodes here please? Just loooove it...

If my memory serves me right, I have seen Sekhar Suman in 'Reporter' TV serial (directed by Karan Razdan) before 'Dekh Bhai Dekh.' 'Reporter' was one of my favorite detective serials in DoorDarshan then.

Vikas, I am also a student . But I can share some memories (unfortunately no youtube links) on DD serials starting from 'Fauji' (says that Shah Rukh Khan acted in it and he dies in the final episode), 'Aashish,' 'Hum panchi ek dal ke,' 'Hum Log,' 'Space City Sigma,' 'Mujrim hazir ho' (Starring Nutan), 'Kab tak pukaroon' and 'Karamchand' (Pankaj Kapoor), 'Mr Yogi' (Mohan Gokhale), 'Street Hawk' (Universal Pictures) etc.

@vikas - yes i am a student but this was oen of the early programmes i had seen in my childhood
n its been telecasted many times ...you know its been telelcasted like 7 times till date

and everytime they telecast it ..the ratings have alwz been high ...its never dropped isnt that awesome ???

wow! its fantastic to get back to these ones. anyone remember malgudi days?

'Malgudi Days' is, of course, based on the stories of R K Narayan. Opening title had his brother R K Laxman's cartoons. I think the director is either Shankar Nag or Ananth Nag.

There was another serial 'Wagle ki duniya' with Anjan Srivastava in the lead. It is said that the stories are based on R K Laxman's 'You said it' common man cartoon strips.

I hope nobody will forget Jaspal Bhatti's 'Ulta Pulta' and 'Flop Show' comedy serials. Now looking back, I can see a lot of talented actors and directors starting their career with DoorDarshan serials.

My father bought a black & white PHILIPS TV (14") probably in 1987 or 1988. I am from Kerala and we had only 30 minutes of programs in Malayalam. All the other programs (Morning Transmission with Deepak Vohra and the puppet 'Ji Saheb'), Afternoon Transmission (Tabassum was a part of it) and the evening National Network program (Who can forget the news reader Salma Sulthan?) are mainly in Hindi or English. I think I was a big DoorDarshan fan in that era when we never heard of satellites or 24 hour specialized channels. We just had one channel -- DoorDarshan (Not even DD Metro or DD2).

Today, it is said that there are more than 30 Malayalam channels in Kerala!

I remember Malgudi Days. Those were the good days of real Indian television:
