good opportunity for advertisg students in the USA
UNA students now have the option of listening to their own on-campus radio station, called ROAR radio, which began broadcasting, on Feb 15.
The radio station is currently broadcast
on television channel 85 on campus,
airs every day, and is sponsored by the UNA Broadcast Society.
Aftan Merrida, a sophomore Radio/Television/Film major from Birmingham said that the station started as an idea between Assistant professor of Radio/Television/Film Dr. Pat Sanders and Professor Beth Campus, and that students
have to be a member of National Broadcasting Society or the UNA Broadcast Society in order to be a part of the station.
There is currently no way for students
to listen to the radio station off campus but Merrida says that those who work on the station are always open to suggestions.
Currently the station runs about a half dozen weekly shows and the shows are broadcast by the students themselves.
Merrida says the station is a work in progress and every week somebody thinks of something new to do.
The station appears to be growing fast as is evidenced by the advertisements
all around the campus.
Merrida said she hopes all students enjoy the station and that any and all feedback is appreciated.
