wanted to know if there are any freelance photography assigments avaliable in India?

there are lots.
SaingInThe Intenet: please collect a comprehensive portfolio, in print form (make PRINTS) and PLEASE dont have your logo all over the pictures. Then call every single ad agency in town, seeking appointments with the creative directors. show them your work. remember you will be competng against photographers who have been shooting for the last 20-25 years, so you will have to take a really really good portfolio.
then you MAY get some decent freelance assignments. thats IF you want to shoot advertising stills, which is what I assume you want to do, since you are in an advertising community.
