But not enough at all....due to the 2 obvious reasons....
1-one doesn't find anything exciting enough to do....which is the main reason why i'd do freelance....and when u do find that something u'd love to do, ur already so overwoked at work....u just cant take it on....!

2. When u do find decent work, or doable work.... the pay is crap....no one here respects design and so on.....and even folks abroad want to outsource people from india just so they can pay them shit money and get lots of work out....cos they all know labour is cheap here.....so wheeeee!

But then again, i'm sure the judicious mix of the right client+decent work+good negotiation skills can reap many happy freelancers everywhere...just that i'm not one of them.....
i barely have 1 or 2 good clients...who i dont have to chase up for work or for timely pay.....they good people and it works out well....the rest i just dont trust...!

Cant we form some sorta freelance union? And beat up the clients who run away with our moneys, or abuse our services in whatever ways?? I'm sure some one here has connections with the underworld....or something??

meanwhile.....if u need design services....or wonderfully crafted hate mails....do mail me at namzie@gmail.com......i also freelance...:)

i freelance ONLY for money.if a client pays crap, i dont give his/her work enough time. if they pay well, tyhe results are better. market economy at work. which suggests why the 'finish' from Europe/S'pore is so much better. their finishing artists are paid better - so finishing artists have better exposure and so on.

i cant imagine a poor systems guy in Thomson or Jasra's having access to Wallpaper*
how will he/she ever develop mentally?

agree with hasmukh....u seap what you sow...sometimes i know the client has money for spending on stupid things and even on printing but haggles with me for money so i put only that much effort.

i also use timesheets. for example if a client says they pay me 5,000 Rs for a logo i say to myself i will put 5 hours for the job as my one hour is 1,000 Rs (only 20 US$ an hour is ok, i guess).

If he pays 10,000 Rs. then I spend 10 hours.

i am having a tough time with a client. i did some logos for him for which i get shit money and then he doesn't like anything i give him. so i do not know if i should give up or keep on trying to do newer logos.

yeah. it would be nice to get to hear of some programmers for web design jobs. funny in a country full of people making an easy buck in IT, its difficult to come across committed programmers for website work! or maybe its BECAUSE of the easy buck they wont do this...

price depends on the content. i generally take any job for whatever price as it is extra income in any case.
