Dalbir, thanks for the appreciation.
Bhavya, I guess you can't help it with logos sometimes. The good thing is that this is not a scam ad and actually endorsed by the client, so I don't mind the logo. In any case, we might clean that portion up when sending for awards. Cheerios, Shanty

Hi Marton...good question.
I have had 1-2 people coming up to me and telling me that it's controversial or in poor taste.
But basically, like in every creative discipline, the output is subject to criticism and I take it accordingly.
Which is why I respect your view.
At the same time, my personal view is that this creative was the best way to illustrate the danger of breast cancer - after all a woman 'does lose her breast'. We can't hide away from truth, can we?
I have made it a point to show this ad to the women I know and respect. 99% of them (most of them non-advertising women) have echoed a sense of deep emotion in the ad. For the 1 woman who didn't like it, she echoed your sentiments.
You can't win them all. But that shouldn't stop you from trying or doing what you feel is right.
Cheers, Shanty

Dude, really nice communication. And good that U have the logo so big. You are pushing an issue and representing an institute or people behind a cause, so damn, if U dont represent them well.
this is the biggest sham, that we, in advertising do. Create a public service communication just to win an award. Tiny logo, big picture, no line. That's perverse. That's like riding aback a cripple to success.
Thanks

Vimal, you've hit the nail on every part of its little head.
It's an issue and the company endorsing the issue has a strong feeling about it. Which is why, they need to be seen, even if it is at the risk of 'spoiling' the ad.
Cheers and thanks for your opinion, Shanty

hey shanty,
nice thought. It's defintiley a new approach on the whole breast cancer thing. The Art direction is a big awkard though. The logo treatment and font choice could be better. I wish I could suggest some font choices, but i don't have one off the top of my head. I would go with something a bit gentle, but a little serious as well. That's just me being nit-picky. But overall..i really like the idea. Good stuff man.

Thanks but couldnt' help with the logo Lee. It's the client's so what if it is unwieldy. Also a paid ad rather than a scam, so it had to be big. Fonts are always subjective and we didn't want anything too flashy to take away from the beautiful image.
Thanks for the appreciation, betterunsaid.
