Hi Ganapathy

If you can find yourself a job outside advertsing which u love as much nothinng like it. Coz not only will you a satisfying job, I'm sure it will pay better too. But then the question is there any thing else which u'll enjoy so much. I think every should enter advertising knowong that I will be stint (Cud be a yr old or 15 yr old) and never a career basis which you can plan your entire life. I think this shud be especially know to all young eager kids who keep landing veryday with porfolio wanting to do 'advertising'

All the best Ganapathy, and once u'v found something just as good please let me know. I'll follow may be—MIHIR

first ask yourself why you chose advertising in the first place. if you heart lies here i am afraid you will not like a cool corpo job even if it pays u a fortune.

Hey all you guys,
Thanks so much for all the support and advice. I never thought anyone would take notice of my quiet exit. And bhavya, hi, it's me the weirdo.

Advertising has always been a passion, and I know i'm made for it coz amit akali has told me so. And I've enjoyed every moment of my life in advertising. The brainstorming, the abusing, the client presentations, the snickering, the PPMs, the agencyfaqing, the gossip, the late nights...

But I don't think I can afford writing as a profession in India. I might make big bucks doing a corporate job and save up enough in a year to afford air tickets to London. AMV/BBDO, BBH, DDB, Saatchi - I might try my hand there. If my port works here, it should work there too right?

I guess for now it's a toss up between getting 12k to do something you completely love and getting 35k to do something you don't really hate. I just don't want my kid to have the same regret i have - If only my father had secured my future, I could have chased my dreams...

The only regret will be the fact that i'm goin to the suit side, the side whose ass i've always kicked. I'll just be less creative for a while. Aarghh.
