Thinking, how can I post stuff on my site or forums and yet the clients don't have a problem with it. All clients dont allow you to do that, specially unpublished, yet to be published or even published work!

Any ideas, fellow DesiCreatives?

pixelfiesta, you have every right to share ALL released work because thats your portfolio and thats what you HAVE to show to get more work.

the client has every right to ask you NOT to share unreleased work! so thats how it goes.

of course if you want to share unreleased work, you can only do it discreetly.

but now I am curious to see your work too

1) Its not all that easy to leave a job just for the sake of your portfolio.
And I am still talking about some of my old pieces of work. But even those had got me into trouble. I realized it was unpublished work and had to bring down the site for a while
2) When I had posted my site link on this forum, the work section was open. Its only when I received a verbal notice I had to put it behind a firewall.

I understand what you are saying, but there is a legal angle to it also. We (almost all) designers sign a non-disclosure agreement which has several clauses and we cannot just violate the rules. There's lot to it. In the west it works much differently. In India one cant freelance if he is full-time with an agency. But all creatives do freelance work, thats a different thing altogether.
