Anindya Banerjee promoted as branch head, Scarecrow Delhi

Scarecrow Communications has promoted Anindya Banerjee, popularly known as Andy, as branch head, Scarecrow Delhi.

Banerjee, executive creative director and creative head of the Delhi office, will take over the additional responsibilities on June 1. Banerjee joined the agency in April, 2011 from Law & Kenneth.

The development mirrors a recent trend of creative professionals assuming roles traditionally seen as the domain of suits and administrators.

Manish Bhatt, founder and director, Scarecrow, says, "Andy is the face of Scarecrow Delhi. Anyway, he was playing this role. All we are doing here is to recognise it and give it a nomenclature. We are giving due liberty and power to the role he was playing by default. And, wishing him to attract great brands and great talent."

Banerjee says, "My primary task will be to grow the business. But, the task also involves continuation of great creative work. We are not a network agency, hence it is necessary for us to be at the forefront as far as creativity is concerned."

Starting out in 1995 as a management trainee in Contract Advertising, Banerjee joined Ogilvy in 2000 as creative consultant, and worked on brands such as Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Weekender Clothing, 3M, IBM, Deccan Herald, Titan Watches and Bru Coffee.

Heading to Ogilvy Delhi in 2005 as associate creative director, he returned to Contract after a year as creative director. He did a two-year stint at Publicis between 2008 and 2010 as senior creative director before joining Law & Kenneth.

Scarecrow is one of India's fastest growing agencies with clients such as Reliance Digital, Anchor Panasonic, DNA, Religare, Future Capital, Viacom18, Rupa, Core and Quikr.

Scarecrow Delhi, based in Modi Mills, Okhla handles brands such as Eristoff, Pentair, DLF and MVL Mobiles.
